What are Scheme Walkabouts?
Residents volunteer to walk around the schemes that they live on with a member(s) of staff from Pickering and Ferens Homes. Residents will look around the scheme commenting on and pointing out any areas of concern or areas that need tackling. These could include for example additional security measures such as lighting, maintenance issues, graffiti.
How much commitment is involved?
A walk around the scheme that you live on once or twice a year. This may be at Pickering and Ferens Homes request or you can request this if there are problems that you feel have occurred in between the walkabouts.
What does the organisation / resident gain from this type of involvement?
You will be helping us to identify and offer solutions to issues that are affecting your scheme.
