Pickering and Ferens Homes is the largest locally based independent Housing Association for older people operational exclusively within Hull and East Yorkshire.

Our Staff

The association employs just over 40 members of staff. 

Under the leadership of Director, Roger Elliot, three sections – Housing, Finance and Maintenance – are responsible for the day to day operation of the association. The heads of each of these three sections, along with the Director, make up the Senior Management Team.

Our team is one of our most valuable resources, which is why we invest time and energy in appropriate, high quality training, and promote open communication at all levels within the organisation.

 

 

Senior Management Team

Roger Elliot AHA FCIH – Director

Roger Elliot has been employed as Director of Pickering and Ferens Homes since October 1994. He has previously worked at the Salford Housing Department, Leeds City Council Housing Department, and also at Hull City Council (1973 – 1994).

The Director of Pickering and Ferens Homes is responsible for the overall operation and effective running of the organisation. The Director is responsible to the Board of Trustees, for the overall direction of the organisation, for the effective performance of the organisation and is responsible for the overall activities of each of the three sections of the organisation, namely the Finance, Housing Management and Housing Maintenance sections.

Paula Kelly BA Hons - Head of Housing

Paula joined Pickering and Ferens Homes in April 2002. Before this, she enjoyed roles at Housemartin, Sanctuary and Hull Churches Housing Associations where she gained more than 19 years' experience of working in housing management within the social housing sector. Paula is responsible for day-to-day operational activities within housing management, sheltered housing and support services, along with the provision of policy information and resident involvement.

 

 

Paul Atkinson - Head of Maintenance

Paul has worked within the construction industry and social housing in both the public and private sector for more than 40 years. A member of the Chartered Institute of Building (ICIOB), he has enjoyed roles as a Joiner, Clerk of Works and Maintenance Surveyor in the past. Paul has responsibility for the provision and delivery of an efficient and effective repairs and maintenance service and contributes to the association's overall corporate strategy.

 

 

Lish Harris BSc FCMA - Head of Finance

A chartered management accountant, Lish has worked within the social housing sector for more than 17 years. Lish has previously worked in the finance department at Harewood Housing Society in Leeds and Auker Rhodes Chartered Accountants auditing commercial organisations. His primary responsibility focuses on leading Pickering and Ferens Homes’ financial strategy, statutory and management accounting, budgeting, treasury management, and IT, as well as contributing to the overall corporate strategy.
