The grass really is greener

Since Glendale’s appointment as our Grounds Maintenance contractor in April, the team have been hard at work engaging with the community and making a great first impression on our residents.

Mrs and Mrs Young, of Ada Holmes Circle, take great pride in their garden. When a razor wire was preventing them from being able to trim a severely over grown hedge it was Glendale to the rescue.

“The hedge was becoming quite an eyesore, it was a mess,” Mrs Young explains. “We had tried to trim it ourselves but the strimmer kept catching on the razor wire making it too dangerous.

“The Glendale team really were fantastic, marvellous even. I couldn’t believe how quickly they sorted it out and they even cleared up after themselves. The chaps that came were extremely friendly and I even made them a cuppa. I would recommend them to everybody.”

Contract manager, John Gregory, believes community engagement is a key part of their service. In order to support this, Glendale has set up an online hub called Glendale Local where residents can contact a member of the team or find out more about the services being delivered on their estate.

Mr Gregory said: “My favourite part of the hub is the postcode search which allows residents to find out when our teams are next in the local area. “Our overall aims are to provide an efficient and effective service that ensures all green spaces are maintained to an excellent standard for residents to enjoy.”
