Residents encouraged to showcase their hidden talents at later life talent show

Pickering and Ferens Homes is encouraging talented residents to come forward and showcase their unique skills later this year.

Whether residents fancy themselves on stage as a singer, dancer, comedian or even a magician, Hull’s Celebration of Older People is set to play host to a vibrant event which is open to all over-55s.

Hull’s Celebration of Older People is set to return on September 26th 2016 for a week-long extravaganza featuring a huge range of events, activities, information sessions and fantastic opportunities for those wanting to maximise their enjoyment of later life.

As part of the celebrations, Hull’s Got Talent will be held at the Mercure Royal Hotel on September 28th and Pickering and Ferens Homes would be incredibly proud to see some of its own residents taking centre stage.

Interested residents need to fill out an application form and return it directly to the Hull’s Celebration of Older People team by Friday 26th August 2016 to secure their place.

The event is a fantastic opportunity not only to entertain others, but also to socialise and meet new friends. Residents who don’t want to perform are encouraged to attend within the audience for what promises to be an event with a difference.

Claire Champlin, Pickering and Ferens Homes’ Health and Well-being Manager, said: “I am sure we must have a fair few residents who have hidden talents that they usually keep quiet, but this is the perfect opportunity to showcase them and have some fun along the way.

“Hull’s Celebration of Older People week is undoubtedly a real highlight in the later life calendar within our region and I would be so pleased to see some of our own residents featuring within the talent competition, as well as enjoying the rest of the wide-ranging activities on offer.”
