Water safety

Water safety relates to the control of Legionnaires disease mainly. A form of pneumonia which more elderly and ill health people can catch under certain circumstance more readily than others.

PFH manage water safety by using inhouse maintenance and specialist contractors to test the water system regularly. Water temperature and use of the system is the key to making sure legionella is kept under control.

We flush the water system in void properties and in communal showers as part of the water management regime.

Air conditioning systems are also inspected and checked regularly as these types of units can also cause legionella, through droplets of moisture in the systems.
