Contract: 6-month fixed term

We are looking for a Property Surveyor to join our team on a temporary basis for 6 months duration to ensure we continue to deliver excellent customer service to our residents.  Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm and Friday, 9am-4.30pm with some requirement to attend emergency call outs.

PFH is embracing agile working so we can do our best work in a place that provides the best outcome for our customers and residents and we have the IT infrastructure in place to support this with the use of Microsoft 365 and Teams!

It is envisaged, that this role will, following a period of supervision, development and delivery offer the opportunity for you to work from another location including home if suitable for up to 2 days a week.

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Contributing to the repairs and maintenance programme for the association.
  • Contributing to the delivery of the cyclical works programmes for the association.
  • Carry out pre and post inspections of routine repairs, maintenance, cyclical works and potential insurance works as required.
  • Carrying out stock condition surveys.
  • Undertaking void property inspections. Responsible for updating stock condition information, preparing schedules of work / specifications and ensuring works are undertaken within pre-determined limits.
  • Liaising with local authorities to provide DFG works to PFH properties.

The ideal candidate will have:-

  • Qualification in Construction / Building Studies with over 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Health & Safety related qualification (IOSH) is desirable but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of building practice to enable defect identification and production of specifications.
  • Experience of project management including maintaining a budget.
  • A strong desire to deliver and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of both Microsoft packages and a CRM system.
  • A confident decision maker with demonstrable commercial awareness and the ability to build good working relationships with residents, contractors and staff.
  • Own vehicle and a clean driving license is essential for this role.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Teams is an advantage but not essential
  • The ability to work at home effectively with a quiet workspace and fast, reliable broadband connection, preferably fibre optic is desirable but not essential.
