How we started
Our organisation was born out of the philanthropic example of two very prominent Hull businessmen – Christopher Pickering and Thomas Ferens.
In line with our overarching aims at PFH, we provide accommodation and services predominantly for residents aged over 60 years old with a particular social value emphasis on health and wellbeing in later life.
Pickering Crescent
Christopher Pickering donated £6,300 for the construction of 12 Almshouses to be built in west Hull.
Ferens Haven
Thomas Ferens was responsible for the conception of the charity when he built 12 Almshouses.
Additional Houses
A further twelve Almshouses were built.
