We Offer:
Join us in a Head of Finance role. This is a permanent contract. You will support the Business Services Director and Finance team by managing the Finance function on behalf of Pickering & Ferens Homes.
Key responsibilities include:
- To support the Business Services Director in the provision of effective high qualityĀ financial managementĀ and services to the association. Contributing to the associationās financial decision making, whilst also providing effective leadership to the team.Ā Ā
- Leading the associationās internal and external financial analysis and reporting processes by developingĀ appropriate strategies,Ā processesĀ and systems to continuously improve financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, riskĀ managementĀ and control, supporting the achievement of PFHās long-term ambitions andĀ objectives.Ā
- Driving business improvementĀ activityĀ across the team and association through process improvement methodologies and innovative thinking.Ā
- Leading and developing the Finance Team,Ā toĀ improveĀ key processesĀ and strengthenĀ the financialĀ controls throughout the association ā improving efficiency andĀ minimisingĀ financial risk.Ā
The ideal candidate will have ā
- Extensive experience of preparing statutory accounts and developing practice from the regulatory framework of accounting.Ā
- Experience of developing systems of risk management and internal control.Ā Ā
- Experience andĀ track recordĀ of monitoring,Ā improvingĀ and reporting on financial and business performance, including value for money initiatives.Ā
- Very goodĀ understanding and experience of working with the SORP applicable to Housing Associations.Ā Ā Ā
- Experience of developing and automating financial reports.Ā
- Experience in preparing,Ā settingĀ and managing service charge budgets.Ā
- Experience in re-engineering processes to achieve more efficient and effective ways of working.Ā
- Relevant Treasury related technical knowledge.Ā
- A good understanding and experience in payroll and pension processing.Ā
- Experienced in preparing reports for Senior Leadership Team, Committees and the Board keeping them appraised of performance, risk, procedures, newĀ legislationĀ and policy reviewsĀ Ā
- Experience of leading, managing,Ā coachingĀ and developing a team.Ā
- Knowledge of housing is desirable but not essential.Ā
Salary:āÆUp to Ā£63,000Ā depending on experience.Ā Ā Ā
Hours:āÆ37Ā hours per weekĀ Ā
