We know that as we get older, staying independent is important.

That’s why we’ve created the SMART-enabled ‘Try Before You Apply’ apartment at Ada Holmes Circle, north Hull. It’s all about giving people the opportunity to experience what it’s like to stay in a PFH Plus apartment

Participants can:

If you’re 60 or over, live in Hull or the East Riding, and have limited assets, call us on 01482 223783, you may be eligible to take part!

Stay in the fully furnished and equipped apartment for up to three weeks
Stay COMPLETELY for FREE and without affecting your Housing Benefit
Be assured that there is absolutely NO COMMINTMENT, but you can apply for permanent rehousing at a later date if you want to
Make use of all the communal facilities and join in social events and activities in the residents lounge if they want to
Make new friends and try new things
Have peace of mind that somebody will check on your welfare every day.

To enhance your stay and make it fit your needs, the apartment is also equipped with a range of SMART technology and aids and adaptations, designed to support greater independence, dignity and quality of life. Thanks to a £10,000 award from the KCOM Digital Inclusion Grant.’

Our SMART vision aims to provide Supporting, Modern, Accessible, Responsive and Transformative technology to those who might benefit from it. This includes:

Voice-controlled lighting and curtains
Set reminders via an Alexa Smart Hub
Discreet aids and adaptations to promote safety and ease of movement
Accessible kitchen with equipment to support preparing food and drinks safely and
independently
Stylish, homely furnishings designed for ease of access.

** You can try all of these things, or just the ones you feel will be of benefit to you, during your stay as part of the Try Before You Apply scheme**
