Residents across Pickering and Ferens Homes recently took part in our Big Check-In, helping us better understand what matters most to them and highlighting the support, services and opportunities available across PFH.
Over the two days, our team spoke to 790 residents, reaching 54% of PFH residents through face-to-face conversations in their homes and communities.
The Big Check-In focused on connecting with residents, listening to feedback and ensuring people are aware of the range of services available to help them stay safe, healthy and independent in their homes.
During conversations with residents, the PFH team shared information about key services including wellbeing support, aids and adaptations, financial wellbeing advice, Telecare, safeguarding support and opportunities to get involved in shaping services.
The event also provided residents with a reminder to update their details, discuss any support needs and learn more about resident engagement and volunteering opportunities.
Every conversation, suggestion and piece of feedback helps shape the services we provide and resident involvement continues to be crucial in helping PFH improve services and strengthen communities.
“One of the best things about days like this is having the chance to have genuine conversations with residents. We send information out throughout the year, but nothing replaces being able to talk face-to-face, answer questions and hear directly about people’s experiences.”
“I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us. The feedback we’ve received will help us continue improving our services and making sure we’re providing the right support for our residents, both now and in the future.” – Claire Warren, Chief Executive of Pickering and Ferens Homes.
